Who we are
The Friends of Duncan Library is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the operations of the Duncan Library, located in the heart of the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.
Bylaws | Board Member Responsibilities
Membership donations and monies raised by the Friends are used to help fund activities and programs, and purchase materials and books not funded by Alexandria City. We always welcome new members. Please join online or pick up a membership form at the Duncan Library circulation desk.
Our mission
The Friends of Duncan Library (FODL) is an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to raising community awareness and funds to support the services and programs of the Duncan Library. FODL is committed to advocacy, outreach, and responsible financial stewardship to empower Duncan staff and enrich the lives of its patrons.

Board meetings are open to all and are held on the second Monday of each month (excluding holidays) at 7:00 pm in the Beth Patridge Meeting Room at the Duncan Library.
