Tales of Terror: Haunted Library 2025 returns October 24-25, 2025 at Duncan Library in Alexandria, VA.
Two days of ghostly tours, eerie thrills, haunted history and and just enough fright to make you wonder if you should’ve stayed in the children’s section! Presented by the Friends of Duncan Library and Del Ray Citizens Association. Tickets are just $10 each and proceeds support Duncan Library.

What's New in 2025
This year we're offering two distinct tour types:
ALL AGES Tours - Open to everyone. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18+). The adult must have their own ticket for the same tour group time.
AGE 16+ Tours - Open to guests ages 16 and up
Tickets
$10 per person (each participant must have their own ticket). All proceeds benefit Duncan Library by funding new books, programs, community events, and more. A processing fee will be applied at checkout to cover transaction costs, ensuring that 100% of your ticket price supports Duncan Library through the Friends of Duncan Library.

From welcoming guests to guiding them safely out of the stacks, every role helps make this spooky community event a screaming success. Choose your volunteer shift, grab your best ghostly grin, and help support Duncan Library in a fun, fright-filled way!
👻Volunteer Roles
Front of House Volunteer – Greeters & Crowd Wranglers
Be the first friendly (or spooky) face our guests encounter! You’ll check tickets, manage the line, help entertain guests as they wait, and set the tone for a safe and spooky experience.
Back of House Volunteer – Exit Crew & Crowd Wranglers
Help guests make it safely out of the Haunted Library—if they dare! You’ll manage the exit area, hand out goody bags, keep the crowd flow moving, and ensure every scream ends with a smile.
All volunteers will receive on-site orientation before their shift. Costumes encouraged but not required. We can also sign off on volunteer hours for school.
